Summary:

"Eva Schlegel talks to the curator Antonia Hoerschelmann about her early years as an artist, her formative stint in New York, and aspects of her life that inform her art. Discussing her numerous distinctive series of works, they explore the role of space and perception in her oeuvre and how creative strategies including lighting, reflections, and blurring can broaden and challenge them. Eva Schlegel has longstanding ties to the Secession: a member since 1995, she realized an imposing site-specific installation with lead walls and mirror panels in the Secession's main gallery in 2005 that responded to and reinterpreted the space's architectonic parameters. She recently worked with Antonia Hoerschelmann on an extensive exhibition at Landesgalerie Burgenland, which is on view through 5 October 2025. Eva Schlegel Reflexionen Landesgalerie Burgenland 14.06.2025 - 05.10.2025 Eva Schlegel Secession 5.5. - 26.6.2005"-- provided by distributor.
