Griffin, Brian.
Work / Brian Griffin.
London : Black Pudding Pub., 1988.
89 pages : chiefly illustrations ; 30 x 30 cm
A book of staged images, carefully executed and beautifully printed. A trained draughtsman before he began to work with photography, Griffin stresses sculptural form and human gesture, and highlights his images with such apparently random "traces" as the bright lights of jets passing overhead in the night. This very unusual collection of images is supplemented by a recording of Griffin speaking of his obsession with photography, backed by Elvis Costello's band, The Attractions, recorded live at the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh in 1988.
