A program to promote social housing in Chile that began in 2005 was begun by a group of university students who asked the question: "What can the world of art and design do for extreme poverty?" The project MINIMO grew from this that brought in contemporary art community with the idea design and beauty increase the quality of life and that design could be "democratized". This book contains the responses and completed projects and prototypes of what can be done to alleviate extreme poverty and emergency.
