Shigeru Ban is a Japanese architect who studied in the United States. This study is centred on a series of projects which explore the possibilities of unconventional materials such as paper tube structure. The work of Shigeru Ban posits the search for a personal path, always pioneering and deeply committed, in which experimentation provides the response to real architectural problems, as in the case of shelters for those made homeless by disasters in Kobe or Rwanda.
