Separate analysis of the types of domestic architecture for each time period and an comparative analysis that highlights their similarities and their difference. The study consists of 97 samples, 69 of which are located in Cartagena and the others are scattered in locations of Turbaco and Arjona in the Department of Bolívar. The examples chosen are for housing and architecture of historic residences. The book begins with a historical look at the formation of the city of Cartagena and the neighboring towns of Turbaco and Arjona. This section also serves to raise the periodization proposed in the book: a colonial period between 1533 and 1850 and a period that extends Republican from 1850 to 1930. The last part of the book is of particular interest that studies the affinities and contrasts between the types of each period.
