The present catalogue-book pays tribute to the life and outstanding legacy of architect Fernando Martinez Sanabria (b. Spain 1925 - d. Bogotá 1991) who left a large constructed production in Colombia of residential, public and private buildings, like houses in the Refugio high-class neighborhood as well as outstanding urban projects like the Plaza Bolivar, the Economy Department of the National University, the "Caja de Sueldos de Retiro" (Salary Withdrawal Fund) of the Police building, the old Hilton Hotel, the Plaza Bolivar among others.. Architect Fernando Monetnegro who collaborated in this edition comments on the most characteristic aspect Martinez' architecture "Brick is still used as a closing plane, circumscribed to the constructive cornices and lintels, although the latter is the one that announces the force of his expressive character". Includes texts by author Alberto Zalamea, architect Fernando Montenegro and historian Rodolfo Velásquez.
