Summary:

Henry Maguire, emeritus professor of art history at Johns Hopkins University, works on Byzantine and related cultures. He has written extensively on Venetian art and the church of San Marco.
Robert S. Nelson, professor of the history of art at Yale University, studies the art of Byzantium and its reception. A continuing concern of his has been the Italian engagement with Byzantium in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, and the collecting of Byzantine art in Europe and America during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. --Book Jacket.
