318 pages : illustrations, 1 portrait ; 29 cm
This impressive edition is the first comprehensive and systematic publication of the complete photographic archive of Ferrez (b. France), considered the most important Brazilian photographer of the 190th century. The vast collection of the long-lived photographer is composed by thousands of negatives and hundreds of black and white landscape photographs, including postcards, glass negatives, compossed autochromes, and albumen, platinotype and silver gelatine prints illustrating various critic studies by Françoise Reynaud, Maria Inez Turrazi, Antonio Fernando De Franceschi, Pedro Karp Vasquez, Sergio Burgi and Stephan Kohl. The book is also a reference to an homonymous two-phase exhibition, one part organized in an integrated circuit in Brazil and the other in the Museum Carnavalet of Paris.
