240 pages : illustrations (some color) ; 20 cm
This monographic edition rediscovers, from an aesthetic and technical perspective the 40-year practice of architect and designer Aníbal Moreno Gómez (b. Colombia 1925-1990) who left a patrimonial legacy in Colombia's 20th century architecture. Moreno Gómez was recognized for his understanding of mathematics applied to forms, his geometric-volumetric designs and his knowledge of the characteristics and properties of the materials he used to construct his buildings, evident in his two most significant buildings: the nursing school building Pablo VI (1967) of the Universidad Javeriana and the Instituto Colombiano para el Fomento de la Educación Superior (ICFES, 1968-1972), an innovative work that when originally constructed impacted for its labyrinth type design, scarcely known in Bogotá then.
