L'architecte Renato Salvi est à l'origine d'un oeuvre bâti qui se déploie dans deux champs qui se nourrissent mutuellement : des ouvrages d'art autoroutiers d'une part, une production architecturale variée d'autre part. Ces champs d'expérimentation, clairement identifiables dans sa pratique, se sont enrichis du fait de son enseignement aux Écoles Polytechniques de Lausanne et de Zürich, ainsi qu'à l'Université de Barcelone. La présente monographie resitue l'oeuvre et la pensée de cet architecte pour qui l'architecture implique une certaine audace, en vue de proposer à la fois des solutions nouvelles et de résister à l'inertie inhérente aux contingences du projet.
