Summary:

The present text follows in a general way the lines of thought of architectural criticism in a Latin American context, focusing on some of the most important authors and confirming how modern architecture criticism emerged in each country, first as a result of American and European proposals, and later how new local generations of critics have evolved, overcome and consolidated their own theoretical and legitimating interpretations. "The book is the result of the course "Architectural Criticism in Latin America" initiated in the term 1998-1999 simultaneously with the Bienal Iberoamericana de Ingeniería y Arquitectura held in Madrid in 1998 and that ended with the term 2009-2010. The course was part of the Master and Doctorate program of the Department of Composition of the ETSAB, complemented largely with the course dictated by Fernando Álvarez dedicated to Latin America "--P.
