The Economic Journal is published on behalf of the Royal Economic Society. Access is free for RES members; others can view contents and abstracts, but must pay a fee to subscribe. The introduction states "It is a key source for professional economists in higher education, business, government service and the financial sector", and there are eight issues per year. Material published includes symposia, book reviews, special articles and features on data and technology. This is one of the founding journals of modern economics, dating from 1891. Examples of topics covered are labour market reform, temporary work, the economics of religion, biased beliefs about economics and the history of World Bank.
