A detailed study of the architecture early in the viceroyalty with emphasis on architecture and construction of monasteries in Mexico. By way of illustration the book shows some representative convents, later earthquakes and their effects on these buildings, the structural evolution of the convent buildings and finally an analysis of criteria, techniques and conservation programs convents.
