Summary:

The new Museo Memoria y Tolerancia -- Museum of Memory and Tolerance -- is sited in the heart of Mexico City, on a continuous colonnade of the Plaza Juarez complex. As this beautiful, oversized book shows, architects Arturo and Jorge Arditti succeeded in their quest to create a powerful museum to educate future generations about the horrors of genocide. The stunning reinforced concrete building unfolds around the ''floating'' Children's Memorial; the volume that contains Memory and Tolerance is displayed like two open arms embracing the Children's Memorial. This Memorial has two interrelated intentions: remembering approximately two million children who have been exterminated in genocides, and educating our children to foster future coexistence among all people. A fitting book for a structure destined to become an international icon.
