Alles in diesem Künstlerleben ist auf weiter Sicht geschehen", schreibt Emil Nolde am 6. Juli 1929 an seinen Freund Hans Fehr. Im Sommer oder Herbst 1928 hat der Maler Emil Nolde den damals in interessierten Kreisen wohlbekannten, aber noch nicht weltberühmten Architekten Ludwid Mies van der Rohe mit der Planung eines Künstlerhauses in Berlin-Dahlem beauftragt. Rudolf Bertig hat die Pläne und technischen Einzelheiten analysiert und nach den Entwürfen, die sich im Museum of Modern Art befinden, das Haus Nolde als Modell nachbauen lassen. Manfred Reuter erörtert die Hintergründe und Intentionen von Nolder Bautätigkeit.
