Competition divided into three design charrettes to improve the quality of life in New York City. Charrette I is for the design of two ferry terminals connecting water and land transit systems, one at St. George, Staten Island, the other at Spuyten, the Bronx. Charrette 2 calls for the design of a pavilion or group of pavilions for a park in Manhattan and for one in Queens. Charrette 3's aim is to link and expose New York City's multiple underground levels with the surface, specifically in the case of the subways stops for Brooklyn and Manhatten.
