Includes [37] plates illustrating designs and elevations for houses, architectural details and furniture; Hunt was one of the first architects to examine the Tudor style in an depth; his text included excerpts from historical treatises to reflect historical context as well as to establish accuracy for his designs; perhaps influenced by Hunt, authors like Henry Shaw, Charles John Palmer and Joseph Nash published historical accounts of domestic architecture in which they examined contemporary furniture, costumes and society as well as the architectural elements.
