Includes pamphlet: A memoir of old London Bridge, with observations on its architecture, made during its demolition : embellished with a view taken in February 1832. London : J.B. Nichols and Son, 1832 (8 p., [1] leaf of plates). "From the Gentleman's Magazine for March 1832"--T.p. verso. The pamphlet is unsigned, but apparently by Edward John Carlos (cf. DNB). A footnote credits "Mr. William Knight, the Resident Engineer of the new Bridge" with the "observations". In this compilation, the pamphlet is preceded by a letter in ms., dated "Dec. 31/31", addressed to E.J. Carlos. The sender proposes to the addressee that, should he feel inclined to write an article on the old London Bridge "it will be acceptable to our readers."
