Proof copy of L'art décoratif d'aujourd'hui (Paris : G. Crès, 1925?). The latter was largely made up from revised versions of unsigned articles contributed to the journal L'esprit nouveau, and the proof copy represents an intermediate stage between the journal and the monograph. The ms. "Argument", written out by Le Corbusier on 25 slips of paper (9 x 14 cm.) and pasted onto 14 leaves, appears to be the text as published. The type for the rest of the text has been entirely re-set since it first appeared in L'esprit nouveau, and incorporates most of Le Corbusier's revisions. He has however added a few ms. corrections and several captions. A proof reader has corrected typos etc., and the printer has marked off the ill. and p. numbers in blue. The text has been cut up and pasted onto leaves to fit around the ill. (mostly, but not all, out of a copy of L'esprit nouveau). New ill. have handwritten captions by the author. An original pencil sketch by Le Corbusier, in place of one of the photos., appears on p. 111.
