Summary:

Recordings of a lecture held Nov. 4, 1999 at the Canadian Centre for Architecture, Montréal. Architect Dan S. Hanganu speaks of his experience in designing UQAM's pavillon de Design, and shares his thoughts on the constraints architects face, the problems within the system which result in poor quality or mediocre architecture, the reasons why public consultation rarely works, etc. Pierre Quévillon of UQAM was also scheduled to participate but was absent. The event was the second in a series of three lectures entitled "Maître d'œuvre et maître d'ouvrage" = "The architect and the client", in which architects and clients talk about projects they have collaborated on. Includes introductory and closing remarks by Nancy Dunton.
