The 2014 Serpentine Pavilion is designed by Chilean architect Smiljan Radic (born 1965) as a multipurpose social space with a cafe. A semi-translucent, cylindrical structure that resembles a shell and rests on large quarry stones, its torus-shaped fiberglass shell resembles the cast-off chrysalis of some bulbous insect.
