Hannes Coudenys besloot in 2012 om een ode te brengen aan de bakstenen wanorde, en wel met een blog 'Ugly Belgian Houses'. Daarin maakt hij er een sport van om het beste van het lelijkste op camera te vatten en er een grappig bijschrift bij te verzinnen. Met succes, want ondertussen telt zijn website zo'n 300.000 unieke bezoekers per jaar, in binnen- én buitenland. Hij bundelt de vijftig opvallendste (mis)baksels in een boek. Met een hoop leuke achtergrondinformatie en interessant interviews erbovenop. Omdat lelijk nog altijd beter is dan saai.
