Notes:
The imprint of Nuttall and Hodgson appears on the verso of the half-title. First edition: 1836.
: The first edition was published by Longman and Company, and Weale, in 1836 with only plates 1-7. The present second edition 'with additional matter and simplicity, at an additional price' (Preface) was the first to contain plates 8-11. In 1848 Weale published a 'Third Edition, Corrected' with unaltered impressions of the eleven plates. The only other publication by Hart that has been traced is a Description of a new method of treating the sewage of towns (1869; BM. Gen. Cat. shelfmark 8775.bb. 54(4)).
