"Raffaele de Vico (1881-1969) designed architectural works and gardens for Rome from at least 1926-27 until 1962, a long historical period spanning the Kingdom of Italy, Fascism and the Republic. He left an important mark on public gardens in Rome. Because of the continuity of his work, he can be compared to the architect Marcello Piacentini, and his urban-planning vision coincides with the concept of ambientismo formulated by Gustavo Giovannoni."--Publisher's prospectus.
