Synopsis:
The Ross & Macdonald fonds is comprised of documents concerning the work of six successive architectural firms: Ross & MacFarlane (1905-1912), Ross & Macdonald (1913-1944), Ross & Ross (1944-1946), Ross, Patterson, Townsend & Heughan (1946-1950), Ross, Patterson, Townsend & Fish (1950-1958), and Ross, Fish, Duschenes & Barrett (1958-1976). The greatest concentration of work was produced in Montreal where each of the firms maintained their head office, but there were also a large number of works executed in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. The fonds contains 27 884 drawings (24 294 originals plus 3 590 reproductions), 236 photographs, and 18.6 metres of textual documents.

The series documents his architectural projects, mainly in Italy, as well as his conceptual and research projects, such as "Architettura Interplanetaria (1970-1971)" [See AP148.S1.1970.PR02] and "Zeno, une cultura autosufficiente (1972-1980)" [See AP148.S1.1972.PR01], and his designs for furniture. Poli's latest projects includes mainly conceptual work for competition entries in Italy, such as "Ideas competition, Riqualificazione cava di San Carlo, San Vincenzo, Livorno, Italy (1988)" [See AP148.S1.1988.PR02] and "Ideas competition, Riqualificazione centro Storico di Pontassieve, Florence, Italy (1996)" [See AP148.S1.1996.PR01]. The series contains drawings, predominantly conceptual drawings, including sketches, and some presentation panels. Also included are notebooks, photographic materials, mainly photomontages, and storyboards documenting the projects. Furthermore, there are artefacts, such as objects for the "Zeno, une cultura autosufficiente (1972-1980)," and models for his student work, for his furniture designs, for competition entries.

Project series documents Cornelia Hahn Oberlander's work as consulting landscape architect for the landscape design of Villa Maris, a 101-unit apartment building on Bellevue Avenue in West Vancouver, British Columbia. Oberlander worked on this project from 2014-2016 with Enns Gauthier Landscape Architects. It was completed in 2016. The residential tower is also know as the Pink Palace because of its predominant colour. The project consists in designing a roof-top garden with a view on the Burrard Inlet. The project series contains green roof plans, schematic design, development and construction permit drawings, scope of work, correspondence with landscape architects, client and suppliers, and documentation from suppliers.
