Description:
The project series documents the competition entry for the urban plan of the Igara park. The competition was held by the San Sebastián City Council and Igara-Gestión. Abalos & Herreros identified this project as number 148. Abalos & Herreros proposed: « [a] query for the urbanity development of the new west city growing of San Sebastián, [consisting] of infrastructure, social housing and a big park. The assorted and violent topography, the ecological wealth of the support and the presence of the town access infrastructures make this enclave an unique opportunity for trying out completely new analysis and project methods, occupations and densities, including the appearance of nature in the urban life.” (ARCH270975) Abalos & Herreros worked with José Manuel Abalos, Jaime Abalos, Zomad Arquitectos, Arup Group Documenting the project are presentation drawings, project descriptions, publications, presentation documents, cartographic, photographic and reference materials, correspondence, resumes and specifications.

He created standard type plans to serve as a foundation for public housing projects (Taverne et al. 2001, 205-207). Project series includes one drawing of a plan for the Standard Housing Types.

This project series documents the Centro José Saramago in Granada, Spain, which in the end, was not built by Álvaro Siza. While the records were held in the office's archives, this project was assigned the number 46/00. The office assigned the date 2002 to this project. This project was assigned to Siza by the Board of Fundação José Saramago, which was formed by the Ayuntamiento de Castril [City Council], Diputacion Provincial de Granada [Provincial Council] and the University of Granada. The documentation informs us that the location of the building was subject to several changes. According to the documentation the City Council commissioned another architect associated with the Diputacion Provincial de Granada. Documenting this project are studies, plans and a model. Photographic material includes photographs of the project sites. Textual material includes project documentation, contracts, information about the Fundação José Saramago, and correpondence with Fundação José Saramago and Ayuntamiento de Castril.
