Project series documents Cornelia Hahn Oberlander's project for the green roof of the Wong Residence on Quadra Island, off the eastern cost of Vancouver, in the Strait of Georgia. Oberlander worked in this project in the second half of the 2000s. The residence was built in a thick and old-growth forest and "Oberlander designed the rooftop landscape as an experimental extansion of this forest system" [1] The project consists in a three landscaped roofs, with a bridge linking a larger platform to two smaller roofs by a glass bridge. The project series contains correspondence, including correspondence with client, contractors and suppliers, project descriptions and digital photographs of the plant selection and planting work. The project is also documents through studies and sketches, such as sun movements studies and preliminary landscape sketches, and also roof plans used as reference. Source: [1] Herrington, Susan. Oberlander designed a wooded area with pathways to wander in and a reflecting pond with water lilies at the bottom of the property, just under the house terrace. The project was completed in 1987. The project series contains design development drawings, such as landscape plans, planting plans, site plans and grading plans, and site plans used for reference. The project is also documented throught concept notes by Oberlander, correspondence with clients, architects and contractors, meetings notes, plant lists, and photographs of the landscaping work and the digging of the pond. This project series documents an addition to the residence of Mr. SS Sandhu and Harpeet Kaur in Chandigarh, India from 1980-1981. Located on plot no. 2-H, house no. 1003 in Sector 27B, this project consisted of an extension to the first storey and the addition of a second storey to the residence. The ground floor lounge at the heart of the house was the only double-height space, made to accommodate a large spiral staircase.
