Anyone Corporation fonds
AP116
Synopsis:
The Anyone Corporation fonds is composed primarily of textual and photographic records which document the activities of the Anyone Corporation over the course of its planned ten year life span from 1990 to 2001. The non-profit, New York City based organization, was founded by Peter Eisenman, Cynthia Davidson, Arata Isozaki, and Ignasi de Solà-Morales Rubio in order to stimulate a fruitful dialogue between architecture and general culture at the dawn of the new millennium. To this end, ANY (acronym for Architecture New York) organised ten international conferences and numerous public seminars, as well as publishing conference journals, a series of architecture related books, and ANY, a theory driven bi-monthly magazine.

AP207.S1.1967.PR02
Description:
This project series documents The Pig "Carosello Italiano", a film made in the winter of 1967-1968 by Gianni Pettena with archivale footage and shots by Pettena himself. The film is "a comment on the violence of power and consumerism". [1] It consists of a montage of violent scenes, like the Vietnam war, protest demonstrations, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, intersected with images of "mass society's rituals: traffic, shopping and parades in costume"[2]. The project series contains a video recording on VHS of the film, project descriptions in English and in Italian, and a digital version of the film. Source: [1] [2] Marco Scotini, editor. Non-conscious architecture: Gianni Pettena, Sternberg Press, 2018, 235 pages. p. 100.

AP207.S1.1989.PR01
Description:
The project series documents "Tappeto “Sprofondo”", a rug design by Pettena and produced by the Galleria Speciale in Bari, in 1989, for the "I tappeti della meditazione" project that aimed to "underline the importance of an object that [...] can stimulate other uses and behaviors apart from its simple decorative function." [1] Pettena designed a rug with a pattern creating a sinking illusion, to put emphasis on the feeling of dizziness and imbalance that could come with meditation, rather than serenity and contemplation. The project series contains various design studies for the pattern of the "Sprofondo" rug, a transparency of the final design, and photographs and a video of the rug. Virtools files
AP167.S1.SS3
Description:
Sub-series 3, Virtools files, 1995—2013, contains files generated and coordinated by Virtools, a 3D visualization software used to make the Muscle move, respond to users, and play sound. It includes Virtools files, HTML files, audiovisual files (MP3s, WAVs and MPEGs), JPEGs, and applications. There are also a small number of CAD files, including 3DS, Maya, and AutoCad formats. The Virtools proprietary formats include composition files (.cmo), player files (.vmo), object files (.nmo) and scripts files (.nms). Virtools object files and scripts files may be combined and saved as composition files using Virtools Dev, CAD-like software that also coordinates sound and movement. (Virtools Dev is located in file AP167.S1.SS3.002, Virtools software and NSA Muscle composition and player files.) From Virtools Dev, a composition file can be exported to HTML or a player file. The HTML exports no longer work due to a missing JavaScript plugin. Player files and composition files can be played back in the Virtools player; the player also allows the user to interact with player files and behaves much like a video game interface. See file AP167.S1.SS3.008, NSA Muscle interface. Of note, the Virtools player file containing the NSA Muscle interface used at the Architecture non standard exhibition at the Centre George Pompidou is located in this sub-series. See item muscle.bat in file AP167.S1.SS3.008, NSA Muscle interface. There are also a number of other Virtools player files that allow the user to alter and interact with a virtual representation of a structure, which demonstrate ONL’s experimentation with the intersection of architecture and video game design. See file AP 167.S1.SS3.001, Early Virtools experimentation and architecture games.

AP207.S1.2014.PR03
Description:
The project series documents "Secoli E Milenni" a series of drawings by Pettena in 2014. The drawing series shows the passing of time through the illustration of a monument slowly decaying and overcome by nature. "With the passing of millennia everything may disappear and only traces remain of the fabric of previous cultures, superimposed one on the other, but in the end, Nature re-elaborates and recovers its role, prevailing in the end over the small quarrelsomeness of centuries: Nature recounts the millennia, the thousands, the millions of years." [1] The project series contains six printouts of the drawings, a photographic reproduction showing all six drawings, and a video montage of the drawings.
