Résumé:
This publication accompanies the exhibition “Making the Museum Reinhard Ernst”. The exhibition’s focus is not on finished items or images, but on the work in progress – highlighting the acts of thinking, making, and construction, rather than presentation. Based on four thematic areas – Context, Form, Detail and Construction – a large number of sketches, drawings and models by Maki and Associates as well as artefacts and video material provide insights into the complex process of creating the new building. The exhibited items presented on the four thematic quadrants at Aedes are supplemented by photos from the photographers Klaus Helbig and Frank Marburger, who have documented the making of the museum from the beginning.

Résumé:
Focusing on reconciliation with nature, a respectful approach was taken when creating the exhibition “Jinyun Quarries— The Wuarry as Stage“.The large, extensive installation presents the unusual spatial feeling in the stone quarries of Jinyun scenographically and enables visitors to experience it. Spectacular, translucent models give an impression of the complex spatial structure of the spaces carved into the rock, accompanied by large-format photos, plans, and descriptions. The exhibition also explores the historical situation when the stone quarries were still in operation on the one hand, and how the population, the craftsmen, and the administration have accepted and assess the newly created infrastructures today on the other. This publication accompanies the exhibition.

Résumé:
The global pandemic forced many people to set up an office at home. For this edition of ‘Useful Photography’, Marlies Swinkels researched the websites of real estate agents across Europe and collected images of the corner of the room usually reserved for remote working. It is a space where the view is often not as important as the background, which is of course what the outside world sees during the endless Zoom and Teams sessions. From sharing a room with exercise equipment or the washer and dryer to a small table next to the bed, a desk in a closet or attic storage space, or even setting up in the kid’s bedroom, the future workplace is not quite what we imagined it to be.

Résumé:
''How will we live together?'' The extensive publication for the exhibition of the Slovenian Pavilion at the 17th International Architecture Biennale seeks to answer this question through research on community centres in Slovenia. By unearthing and presenting the large-scale project of building more than 350 cooperative centres that began 70 years ago, it reveals how these centres have seen changes in the political and economic system, taken on new uses, shaped local communities, and remain relevant today. A closer look at this history provides a better understanding of indoor public spaces as social infrastructure that fosters interaction, communication, and empowerment.
