Carola Schäfers has incorporated something of the characteristic sobriety and pragmatism of northern Germany into her way of approaching architecture. She does not seek to stand out from or to modify context. If we focus on the principal themes of her work and her premises, we could say that Carola Schäfers adopts the postulates of modernity, but in a non-dogmatic way. The appropriate use of materials, together with the "planning of the place" distance her architecture, on the basis of its functional rightness and propriety in the use of the materials, from the formal pomposity of this end of the century. This book presents her works and projects completed from 1988 to the present.
