"Silver tongued" is rooted in the absorbing process of creating wetplate portraits. The medium requires intricate setups, long exposures, and delicate chemistry. Shaped with only available outdoor light, using vintage 8x10” view camera, these images are individually poured and sensitized on the spot—therefore, greatly influenced by fluctuations in the environmental conditions of the day. Portraits reveal themselves slowly. "What I found compelling was that during sittings these people, whom we had never met before, would open up in a very personal and revealing way, because time essentially had slowed down.
