Résumé:
Disassembling the Archive is a quasi-fictional correspondence by Philip Monk with the artist Fiona Tan. It departs from interpretations of post-colonial identity issues in her work to trace the implications of the archival housing of photographs and moving images. Philip Monk is Director of the Art Gallery of York University, Toronto.

The book reconstructs this system from statements that were dispersed and disguised within General Idea’s work and writing as a whole, including the publication FILE Magazine.
