The Scottish architect, designer and painter Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868–1928) was one of the early pioneers of modern architecture and design. His multifaceted œuvre is an important link between the movement towards artistic reform in Britain and continental Modernism. Mackintosh’s avant-garde designs for the Glasgow school of art, the legendary Willow tea rooms or the Hill house in Helensburgh are a blend of functional simplicity and poetic decorative details. The result is a cool elegance which combines "mysticism and aestheticism with a strong touch of lilac ... and a gentle sensuality". In addition to his architectural works, this book focuses on Mackintosh’s famous interiors and also on his often neglected textile designs and watercolours.

The Pavillon Suisse has accommodated Swiss students in Paris since it was opened in July 1933. This monograph is the result of years of dedicated research into every aspect of the building -- socio-political premises, planning, design and construction, the aesthetic and functional achievements it represents, and Le Corbusier's own renovations in 1948, 1953, and 1957.

A pioneer of modernist architecture, Giuseppe Terragni (1904-1943) produced some of Italy's most significant 20th century buildings. Celebrating the centenary of Terragni's birth, “The Terragni Atlas” presents a visual record of this influential architect whose work is experiencing renewed international interest. In a short and intense career, Terragni created a small but remarkable group of designs that form the nucleus of the Italian Rationalist school of architecture. “The Terragni Atlas” presents the architecture of Terragni through a juxtaposition of archival images and contemporary photographs by Paolo Rosselli.
