Résumé:
This book compiles the RCR Arquitectes own unique cosmogony: a vision of humans, of nature and life in general that transcends mere architecture. Nature and history is the physical place that has been chosen to develop a space by RCR Arquitectes to conceive and experiment and to rethink man's relationship with the world. This physical space is located in the La Vila, in the Bianya Valley (Catalonia), surrounded by woods, water, farmland, country houses, etc. It's a creative, experimental project, and one that is constantly evolving. Technological advances and innovation are applied on an experiential basis in this landscape. New realities are generated, like the humanitacle, a project about the synthesis of man and the built habitat in relation to the surroundings, nature and technology, and la dona i l 'home nu´vol (cloud woman and cloud man), creative beings par excellence and creators of reality. This book introduces this utopia under construction.

Résumé:
The exhibition installation designed by Cino Zucchi Architects for the 16th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice becomes the occasion for a series of thematic readings on the works of the Milanese architect Luigi Caccia Dominioni, gathered here in a volume edited by Zucchi and Orsina Simona Pierini. The architect’s multifunctional building complex in Corso Italia, a “silent masterpiece” which impacted contemporary architectural thinking, unfurls a complex spatial narration from the scale of the city to that of material and detail. The book examines this reality through original documents from the LCD archive, new photography, and specially made 3D reconstructions.

Résumé:
''Palermo Atlas'' is an interdisciplinary analysis of the city of Palermo commissioned by Manifesta 12 and undertaken by the Office for Metropolitan Architecture. The research explores the architecture, archaeology and anthropology of the city, its historical archives and personal stories. On one hand, it is a mosaic of identities, cultures and ecosystems, the result of centuries of encounters and exchanges between civilisations. On the other, it is the stage of the great social and environmental challenges of our time, from the migration crisis to climate change. Drawing on this complexity, ''Palermo Atlas'' sets out to host a reflection on social and environmental renewal, outlining a research model capable of making a long-term impact on the city and its inhabitants.

Résumé:
The inaugural Toronto Biennial of Art in 2019 was the first edition of a two-part biennial that traced interconnected narratives around the city’s ever-changing shoreline. These connections sought to reveal strategies of resistance against industrial-colonial systems, uncover polyphonic histories sedimented around the shoreline, and open up relations between the human and more-than-human. To extend this artistic thinking and expand notions of relationality, in 2022, the second edition moves inland to follow tributaries and ravines, both above ground and hidden, that shape this place. In relation to these two Biennial exhibitions, this publication is a “third” site, a place where the continuities, resonances, and dissonances between Biennial editions are extended. Its pages become a means to bring together the artists, artworks, collaborators, and ideas that have together informed the exhibitions, irrespective of chronology, dispensing with categories, and part of a greater whole.

''How will we live together?'' The extensive publication for the exhibition of the Slovenian Pavilion at the 17th International Architecture Biennale seeks to answer this question through research on community centres in Slovenia. By unearthing and presenting the large-scale project of building more than 350 cooperative centres that began 70 years ago, it reveals how these centres have seen changes in the political and economic system, taken on new uses, shaped local communities, and remain relevant today. A closer look at this history provides a better understanding of indoor public spaces as social infrastructure that fosters interaction, communication, and empowerment.

Résumé:
This book explores how artists and curators evoke the past as a part of the present within the framework of contemporary art biennials. Can the nonlinear and poly vocal form of the art biennial—distinctly different from that of historical museums and academia—provide an experimental testing ground for publicly processing the past and reimagining the future? Conceived as a resource for the fields of art and exhibition studies, as well as for readers interested in history and social change, the book includes reflections on artistic and curatorial strategies, from Lagos to Prishtina and from Venice to Gwangju. The 2019 and 2021 editions of the Göteborg International Biennial for Contemporary Art are featured as case-studies opening up for a wider discussion about the relationship between art and the production of historical consciousness.
