With brutal honesty and a touch of irony, "The End of Suburbia" explores the American Way of Life and its prospects as the planet approaches a critical era, as global demand for fossil fuels begins to outstrip supply. World Oil Peak and the inevitable decline of fossil fuels are upon us now, some scientists and policy makers argue in this documentary. Based on research by The Harvard Project on the City under the direction of Rem Koolhaas, this DVD represents a unique engagement with a hardly documented city, capturing multiple perspectives of a volatile moment in its evolution. In 2002, Bregtje van der Haak, in cooperation with architect Rem Koolhaas and The Harvard Project on the City made "Lagos/Koolhaas", a documentary on self-organization and urbanization in Nigeria. As a sequel to the documentary, Bregtje van der Haak together with designer Silke Wawro, developed the DVD "Lagos wide & close, an interactive journey into an exploding city". The DVD contains an interactive video documentary (60'), edited from 55 hours of unused material that brings the viewer closer to the explosively growing megalopolis Lagos. With bus driver Olawole Busayo, the viewer moves through the city and has a choice of a distant ('wide') or an involved ('close') perspective, at any random moment in the documentary.

Rappel historique des premières constructions des Autochtones et de celles des pionniers qui étaient en harmonie avec leur environnement. Ce film, réalisé trois ans après la crise pétrolière de 1973, présente quelques innovations en planification urbaine illustrées à partir de l'exemple des communautés minières de Fermont au Quéébec et de Leaf Rapids au Manitoba. Ces villes ont été planifiées en fonction du climat nordique et de l'utilisation minimale de l'automobile. Du côté innovation architecturale, on voit la construction de la maison solaire Provident House à Aurora en Ontario, ainsi que la maison The Ark à l'Île-du-Prince-Edouard qui permettra un mode de vie autarcique.
