Résumé:
In 1936, Herman Miller Inc. founder D. J. De Pree committed Herman Miller to "modern" furniture. The rest is history: their continuing collaboration with some of the giants of modern design has made Herman Miller synonymous with quality in design. Herman Miller examines the company's powerful contributions by looking at the problems that design can solve and how creative thinking can benefit the world. Aside from having produced icons of modern furniture, Herman Miller has revolutionized office systems and furniture in the workplace. A definitive history of design and the company’s work since its founding, Herman Miller features the legendary designs of Charles and Ray Eames, George Nelson, Isamu Noguchi, Gilbert Rohde, Bill Stumpf, Don Chadwick, and many more. It is a must-read for collectors, designers, professionals, students, and anyone with an interest in design.

Résumé:
Published in connection of the centennial of the artist's birth, this book draws on Noguchi's letters, his reminescences, and interviews with his friends and colleagues to cast a new light on his youth, his creativity and his relationships. During his sixty-year career, there is hardly a genre that Noguchi failed to explore. He produced more than 2,500 works of sculpture, designed furniture, lamps and stage sets, crated dramatic public gardens all over the world; and pioneered the development of environmental art. This biography, first published in Japanese, traces Isamu Noguchi's lifelong journey across the artistic and cultural borders in search of his personal identity.

Christopher Dresser (1834-1904) was the first industrial designer of the modern era. A true radical, he favored form over ornament, and his stylish, spare, and astonishingly modern designs contrast sharply with the highly ornate work of his Victorian contemporaries. Believing that good design could be popularized through industry, Dresser worked with more than 50 manufacturers to produce an enormous variety of reasonably priced, widely available consumer products. This book is published to accompany the first comprehensive exhibition devoted to his career.

Résumé:
This book is the first monograph on the product designer Ross Lovegrove. Written by the designer himself, with a forward by Paola Antonelli, it presents a complete overview of the designer`s career, featuring realized and unrealized project. While the main texts explains Ross Lovegrove’s philosophy and way of working, the products descriptions reveal the main feature and characteristic of every project. Lovegrove`s work includes a wide range of products from furniture to high-tech products, from water bottles to airplane seats and explores the possibility of realizing sculptural and organic shapes through modern technology and material. In recent years Ross Lovegrove has worked on a design concept that he likes to define as organic essentialism, inspired by elements and aesthetics taken from the natural world and reshaped in futuristic forms. His interest in this sort of new naturalism, which he terms supernatural, is accompanied by research into new materials, new applications and new methods of production. This combination of archetypal inspiration and up to date technology makes him one of the most interesting and unusual figures in the design world.
