These are photographs of electric lines from a trip taken to Tokyo and its surrounds. They are taken with the curious puzzlement of a traveller out of his depth. It is not only a travel document, but it also serves as a published(...)

The artist has manipulated the effect of the photographs with the colour changing of a riso ink drum.

Global Model Village collects together the international works of Slinkachu, the London-based artist who as part of his 'Little People Project' has been abandoning tiny model people on the mean streets of the world since 2006. Documented through photography, these little dramas of hope and tragedy, loneliness and humour somehow get to the heart of what it means to be human; to be alone among millions of other people, all experiencing the particular melancholy and magic of life in the big city.

Résumé:
Someone who doesn’t experience or understand pleasure re-invents poetry for the 21st century conflicted ego, viewing life as a political problem that no amount of startling emotional turmoil or insight can solve. The texts here range from confessions of conflicted feelings to theories of obsolesce, from the desire for a fluffy towel, to possible dialogs for a future detective novel. Freely mixing a calm, straight-forward voice with fragmented shades of hysteria and polemic, the book lays bare the unsettling disappointment of youthful hope, the utopian dream, and energy lost somewhere between a party and a political action.
