Description:
This project series documents the Centro Meteorológico da Villa Olimpica in Barcelona, Spain. While the records were held in the office’s archives this project was assigned the number 65/80. The office assigned the date 1989-1992 for this project. The project was located on the Paseo Maritimo in the center of the Olympic village of Barcelona. It was built for the meteorologists for the Olympic games. It was also used by the reporters of the Barcelona summer Olympic games of 1992. The six-story building was 33 metres in diameter and 4,000 square meters. The building had a cylindrical shape made of reinforced concrete. The project was built and was a collaboration with Joan Falgueras. Documenting this project are sketches, studies, working drawings, structural drawings, and photographs. Textual materials include project documentation, correspondence, and technical specifications. Photographic materials document the models, aerial views and construction progress.

Le dossier documente la soumission pour le concours sur invitation tenu en hiver 1987 pour des arches des "Olympic Winter Games" de 1988, à Calgary, Alberta. Le dossier contient des dessins, des documents textuels, des photographies, une maquette et une reprographie. Objectifs du concours: "Twenty Canadian architects have been commissioned to submit designs for a ceremonial Olympic arch that will capture the spirit of the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary. The models and accompanying drawings will be exhibited during the Olympic Arts Festival, next Jan. 23 to Feb. 28." The Globe and Mail, 27 février 1987. Description du projet: "It explores the theme of "Boundary" as space. It delineates the outside and the outside, skin and structure, tension and pressure. Oberlander worked on this project from 1950-1954 while working for the Citizen's Council on City Planning (CCCP) as community planner. The playground includes a basketball, badminton and handball field, an area for games on earth surface, a quiet area, and a paved area for small children. The project series consists solely of a general landscape plan of the playground.
