Résumé:
This cookbook by Taiwanese artist Pei-Ying Lin (born 1986) is an illustrated guide that showcases how ever-changing viruses affect our sense of taste. The core concept of ''Virophilia'' involves experiencing the viruses in food. Her performances combine different selections of recipes that use the viruses in different ways. The audience eats while listening to stories about the viruses. Since 2055, viruses have become an important part of our everyday food culture. Those born before 2015 may still remember the fear of the natural order that the coronavirus brought us, but since 2055 we have known that such fear is also irresistibly tasty. Viruses that were once exclusive to the research and medical realms are now constitutive of our natural habitat. Pei-Ying Lin, currently based in the Netherlands, has recently been focusing on boundaries (invisible/visible, living/nonliving) and building tools and methods that facilitate their exploration.

Résumé:
Architecture Without Content is architecture reduced to its very perimeter. The books in the series are the outcome of studios held at EPFL. In Architecture Without Content 16, an interest in Neo-Palladianism has been added to a project that investigates the impact of scale, as Palladianism was a defining factor in the early identification of 'American Architecture.' Thus, the studio was both formalistic and pragmatic and tried to inflate Palladian architecture to the scale of the strip: Neon Palladian. In the vast landscape of the United States of America, the scale of food production has always been gigantic. At the same time, it has seldom regained an architectural form similar to that of its most defining orgins. In this book, you will find projects that are organising an aspect of food production. In one way or another, they reconnect to the long-lost virtues of Jefferson's Palladianism.

Résumé:
Renowned natural dyer, artist, and educator Sasha Duerr envisions a new age of fresh, modern color palettes, drawing from our original source of inspiration and ingredients-the natural world around us. This innovative plant-based color-guide includes twenty-five palettes with five hundred natural color swatches, providing inspiration for sustainable fashion, textiles, fine art, floral design, food, medicine, gardening, interior design, and other creative disciplines. Bring the healing power of forest bathing into your home with a palette of spruce cones, pine needles, and balsam branches. Move past Pantone and embrace the natural balance of a pollinator palette with Hopi sunflower, red poppy, echinacea, and scabiosa. Duerr complements the palettes with short essays that provide useful information. She connects the colors with particular landscapes, the restorative qualities of medicinal plants, common garden flora, lifestyle experiences, food and floral waste, and the ecological benefits of using organic materials to create colors. You may never view color-or your plants-the same way again.

Résumé:
Despite his tragically short career, the influence of Gordon Matta-Clark (1943-1978) is ever more pervasive. Central to the explosion of creativity in New York's SoHo in the 1970s, Matta-Clark turned his focus on the city itself, slicing through abandoned buildings to create works that were at once large-scale sculptural environments, social commentary and urban performance pieces. His aim was to unravel the grammar of architecture and "turn a building into a state of mind". The 'building cuts' remain Matta-Clark’s best-known works, although today they exist only through film and photographic documentation. Armed with a movie camera, he explored the hidden spaces beneath Paris and London. He handed out free food and 'fresh air' on the streets, created architecture from refuse, and planned visionary architectural projects. His engagement with the urban landscape also led him to set up an artist-run restaurant, Food. This elegant produced book complements an exhibition at the Centre for Contemporary Art, Glasgow and the Architectural Association, London.
