This project series documents the design and construction of a library and an addition to city hall in Fredericton, New Brunswick from 1972-1975. The office identified the project number as 7226. This project consisted of two distinct parts; a public library constructed at the corners of Campbell and Carleton Streets, and an addition to city hall whose original building was constructed at the corners of Queen and York Streets around 1875. These two buildings were located two blocks from one another, but a master plan for the project shows that the separating streets would be removed in favour of a pedestrian friendly landscape. Both buildings were located next to the St. John River. For this project, Parkin Architects Planners partnered with architectural firm Graham Napier Associates to form the joint venture referred to as Graham Parkin Architects Engineers Planners. The brick-clad addition to city hall nearly doubled the square footage of the ground and first floors. The original city hall was four levels and the addition was two, with a mechanical penthouse on top. The new areas included departmental offices such as planning, engineering and sewage, a drafting room, conference room, and reception, among others. The library consisted of a two-storey, brick-clad building that was approximately 24,000 square feet in size with a 16 car parking lot. The ground floor included reception and exhibit areas, stacks, administration offices, bookmobiles, and staff lockers, while the second level had stacks and reading areas, audiovisual areas and a staff work room and break room. The library also had a mechanical penthouse on top. The project is recorded through drawings, including mounted presentation boards, photographic materials and textual records dating from 1972-1978. The drawings consist of original sketches, plans, sections, elevations and details of both city hall and the library, and some drawings used for construction. The competition was organised by the Algeciras City Council. The firm identified this project as number 123. “The project attempts to express, with an architectural gesture, the beauty of the geography of Algeciras: the bay, the port, the Rock and the Straits of Gibraltar, the proximity of Ceuta and Africa, the cork-oak forests that surround the town. For this [Abalos & Herreros] propose a building that, from a single body, opens out into two towers from one great public viewing platform. This form has strategic holes giving onto the more notable topographical features, establishing a physical relationship with them, while the section is organized as a gradient of privacy that increases with height. The competition […] proposed a mixed programme in a posture parallel to the great avenue of the harbour of Algeciras. An evanescent building apparently fragile appears to let one being stimulated by the effects of the climate and the atmospheric phenomenons with an appearance changing with the function of the hours of the day or the season. This project series documents the design of interiors for the Eaton's of Canada Limited executive offices at 1 Dundas Street West in Toronto from 1974-1976. The office identified the project number as 7431. This project consisted of the office interiors for the 17th and 18th floors of a high-rise building located directly above the Eaton's flagship store, which was attached to the Eaton's Centre mall. The high-rise, its interiors, the Eaton's store and the mall were all constructed simultaneously, with Parkin Architects Planners working on the Eaton's store and office interiors, while architecture firm Craig Zeidler Strong worked on the Eaton's Centre mall and high-rise office building. The project is recorded through drawings, most of which are reprographic copies, photographs and textual records dating from 1975-1976. Arranged within the drawings are some drawings produced for the high-rise building by Craig Zeidler Strong. The textual records contain meeting minutes, specifications, construction documentation and project notebooks. The photographs show the office interiors of various Eaton's executives.

This project series documents the design of interiors for the Eaton's of Canada Limited executive offices at 1 Dundas Street West in Toronto from 1974-1976. The office identified the project number as 7431. This project consisted of the office interiors for the 17th and 18th floors of a high-rise building located directly above the Eaton's flagship store, which was attached to the Eaton's Centre mall. The high-rise, its interiors, the Eaton's store and the mall were all constructed simultaneously, with Parkin Architects Planners working on the Eaton's store and office interiors, while architecture firm Craig Zeidler Strong worked on the Eaton's Centre mall and high-rise office building. The project is recorded through drawings, most of which are reprographic copies, photographs and textual records dating from 1975-1976. Arranged within the drawings are some drawings produced for the high-rise building by Craig Zeidler Strong. The textual records contain meeting minutes, specifications, construction documentation and project notebooks. The photographs show the office interiors of various Eaton's executives.
