Description:
Project series AP154.S1.1967.PR02, State University College at Potsdam, New York (1967), documents three executed projects for buildings at the State University College at Potsdam. The architect Edward Larrabee Barnes produced a master plan for the campus of the college starting in 1962.Later, the New York State University Construction Fund commissioned major Potsdam buildings from three young architects--Giovanni Pasanella, Joseph Merz and Richard Moger--who had worked on the Potsdam campus project while they were on staff at Barnes's office. The project series is divided into three subseries. One of the three subseries documents the project for the Science Building II by Merz and Pasanella. A second subseries is composed of drawings related to the conversion of a dormitory into classrooms, offices and a computer center. The third subseries contains drawings for the administration building designed by Giovanni Pasanella.

Description:
Oud was one of a number of architects invited to enter the competition for the new offices of the Province of South Holland, a complex due to replace the bombed headquarters on Korte Voorhout. The design for the new site – located on the grounds of a former zoo – was required to conform to the reconstruction plan of the architect-town planner, W.M. Dudok. Oud designed a four-storey building that conformed to building requirement and located the buildings at the southwest corner of the site to accommodate the existing zoo. The governor's residence was also designed, and another two office wings were placed at right angles to the main concentration of buildings. Ultimately, to Oud's great disappointment, the jury selected a design by Peutz for its complex (Taverne et al. 2001, 453-456). Project series includes photographs of perspective drawings and of a model.

Description:
This project series documents a proposal for a People Mover System for the Metropolitan Toronto Zoo in 1972. The office identified the project number as 7224. The project was a transportation system for the zoo, which required a guideway be built without disrupting the zoo's terrain as well as ensuring that the fences were out of passenger view. Parkin Architects Planners' worked with the engineering firm M.M. Dillion Limited and were in conversation with Boeing to build the vehicle for the system. The project is recorded through several topographic drawings showing the proposed design for the tracks, also included is a file of correspondence, mostly with M.M. Dillion Limited and Boeing, as well a file of notes and photocopies of drawings for the passenger vehicle. A letter in the correspondance file suggests that Parkin Architects Planners where not choosen to build this project.

Description:
Project series documents Cornelia Hahn Oberlander's for an unrealized green roof proposal for Roy Thomson Hall, a concert hall in Toronto, Ontario. The concert hall was originally known as the New Massey Hall and was designed by Arthur Erickson in the early 1980s. Oberlander worked on this project in 2011 with architectural firm Keith Loffler McAlpine Architects. The project consisted in the revitalisation of the building for its 30th birthday and as a tribute to Arthur Erickson. The project included the addition of the green roof, which was initially part of Erickson's design. The green roof was planned to cover the four flat corners of the square base of the building. The project series only contains a few sketches, including landscape plans, and rendering for the roof garden. The project is also documented through correspondence with architects, and project proposals.

Description:
Project series documents Cornelia Hahn Oberlander's project for the new Visitor Centre of VanDusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver, British Columbia. Oberlander worked on this project from 2007 to 2011 with architectural firm Busby Perkins+Will Architects and landscape architecture firm Sharp and Diamond Landscape Architects. The project consisted in building an access to the botanical garden from Oak Street. The building includes a undulating green roof shaped as a native orchid leaf and covered in plants inspired by the Pacific Northwest Coastal grassland. The building entrance is marked by "a single petal raised above the others" [1] while another of the giant roof petal in the back "almost touched the ground, and transported water to Oberlander's rainwater garden." [2] The project series contains design developement drawings such as site plans, planting plans, landscape plans, landscape sections and a few sketches, and also sets of building drawings or older landscape drawings of the garden used as reference. The project is also documented through textual records, including correspondence with architects, consultants and clients, project proposals, documentation on botanical garden or on the VanDusen Botanical Garden, and press articles and clippings about the project. The project series comprises also digital photographs of the completed building. Source: [1] [2] Herrington, Susan.
