Résumé:
In Designed Leadership, the strategic-design scholar and urban-systems designer Moura Quayle shares her plan for integrating design and leadership, translating processes, principles, and practices from years of experience into tools of change for professional leaders. Quayle describes the key concepts of designed leadership, such as “make values explicit” and “learn from natural systems,” showing how strategic design can spur individual creativity and harness collective energy. For managers at any level, Designed Leadership uses original visuals and field-tested examples to teach the kind of thinking, theorizing, and practicing that result in long-lasting high performance in the workplace and beyond.

Résumé:
Authored by Lorenzo Ciccarelli, the first scholar with access to the Renzo Piano Foundation archives, this book explores the world-renowned architects formative years, prior to the major achievement of the Centre Pompidou. Although this striking success has long tended to overshadow his earlier series of radical and innovative experimental structures, it is precisely this formative period which is fundamental to understanding the genesis of his subsequent work and his unceasing interest in industrial design. The engaging stories found in this book are an essential instrument in illuminating and reinterpreting the architect with previously unpublished archival material.

Résumé:
This beautifully illustrated book brings together the newly commissioned, first-ever English translation of one of the earliest studies in ornithology with the original watercolors, now part of the British Royal Collection, that provided the inspiration for its engraved illustrations. The watercolors, created for the “Paper Museum” of the seventeenth-century scholar and art collector Cassiano dal Pozzo, are here combined with the translated text of amateur naturalist Pietro Olina’s original Uccelliera of 1622 to create a new work that provides a fascinating glimpse of ornithology’s earliest days—a period when folklore informed natural history studies as much as science did.
