Academic works
AP169.S3
Description:
Series 3, Academic works, 1995 - 2011, relates to Bernard Cache’s work as a scholar and author. This series includes born-digital material and chiefly dates from 1999 to 2007. Cache pursued and academic career, teaching and lecturing at many universities while also publishing books and articles. His area of interest revolves around computational architecture, geometrics, history of geometric, stereotomy, engineering and philosophy. These records depict his investment in the study of the relation between ancient theory and the field of computational architecture drawings with CAD or BIM software. His work concentrates on prominent figures such as Greek mathematician Euclid to Roman architect Vitruvius and German painter and theorist Albrecht Dürer. Materials in this series reflect Bernard Cache’s work as a scholar. This includes notes for his articles and lectures as well as drafts for different lectures and texts. It also contains syllabi and planning materials for classes given by Cache on Non-Standard Design and Production in Architecture. The series holds a significant amount of images used for presentation or as examples during those lectures and classes (in JPEG and BMP formats). Those images are for the most part derived from CAD original drawings in TopSolid.

Projet
AP207.S1.1970.PR02
Description:
This project series documents Pettena's installation "Paper/Midwestern Ocean" initially presented in 1971 at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. The installation consists of strips of paper hanging from strings that fill the entire room. Participants are invited to cut their way into the room with a pair of scissors and all join together in the centre of the room to create an open space. The participants then all gather in the central space where Pettena gives a lecture while the audience sits on the piles of cut paper covering the floor. This installation was also presented in seven other editions from 2009 to 2017, including in the exhibition "The Death of the Audience" in Vienna; Secession in 2009; in the exhibition "Erre. Variations Labyrinthiques" at the Centre Pompidou in Metz in 2011-2012; and in the exhibition "Architetture Naturali/Gianni Pettena" at Kunst Meran in 2017. The project series contains a drawing, photographs of the first edition of the installation at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and photographs of the five following editions from 2009 to 2013. AP207.S1.1973.PR03
Description:
The project series documents "Spazio Vuoto Riservato A Gianni Pettena", an installation that consists of a banner with the words "Spazio Vuoto Riservato A Gianni Pettena". The first version of the banner dates from 1973, but it was initially used for the exhibition "Contribution" in Rennes in 2008, where Pettena, one of the artists invited to carry out interventions in symbolic locations around the city, chose to install his banner inside the market. The banner was used also in Pettena's solo exhibition at the Galerie Mercier & Associés, in Paris in 2011, and again at the Spazio MEGA in Milan, in 2017. "Pettena not only introduced the artistic intervention into an environment that was alien to it, but extended the provocation to the point of laying claim to absolute freedom for the artist." [1] The project series contains a sign with the words "Spazio Vuoto Riservato A Gianni Pettena", possibly the sign designed in 1973, photographs of the second edition in Rennes, photographs of the third edition of the installation at the Galerie Mercier et Associés, and photographs of the fourth edition of the installation at the Spazio MEGA.
