AP018.S1.1972.PR10
Description:
This project series documents the Life Sciences Complex at Memorial University (MUN) in St. John’s, Newfoundland in 1972. The office identified the project number as 7211. In 1971, Parkin Architects Planners began work on the Health Sciences Complex located on MUN's north campus. This was a large teaching hospital that also contained the university's medical school. During the conception of the Health Sciences Complex, the Life Sciences Complex was proposed as a future expansion to the hospital. It would include MUN's life sciences department and additional hospital spaces related to those practices, such as pyscology. It is not clear from the materials in this project series whether Parkin Architects Planners proceeded with construction of the Life Sciences Complex. The project is recorded through a meeting report dating from 1972.

CI005.S1.1943.PR1
Description:
The director of the De Nederlanden van 1845 insurance company, J.G.H. Sauveplanne, commissioned Oud with the design of a memorial for The Hague to celebrate the company's 100-year founding. The planned commemoration was kept secret as a surprise to the inhabitants and ultimately its construction was interrupted by the advent of the Second World War. Oud created a design in 1944, which was then altered to propose the creation of a Memorial in Meer en Bosch Park. His revised plan consisted of a central pillar located at the meeting point of the park's six footpaths. The central pillar is also decorated with groups of sculptures and inscription outlining the history of The Hague (Taverne et al. 2001, 451-452). Project series includes plans and sketches of the memorial.

AP056.S1.1995.PR06
Description:
This project series documents renovations to the concert hall of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto from 1995-1996. The office identified the project number as 9512. This project consisted of restauration work and renovations to the existing Castle Memorial Hall, part of the music school originally built in 1901, now renamed the Ettore Mazzoleni Concert Hall. This project was part of a larger master plan, created by KPMB in 1991 under the direction of Marianne McKenna, that outlined multiple phases of renovations and additions to the school (see file AP056.S1.1991.PR07.010 for complete master plan). The restauration work included opening bricked-over windows, removing paint and acoustic panels, and opening the original stair tower. Renovations included the addition of a curved mahogany stage, new maple floors and new acoustic controls. The 6,000 square foot performance venue held 240 seats.[1] The project is recorded through drawings and a presentation painting dating from 1994-1997. The drawings include plans, sections, elevations, details and millwork and furnishings drawings. [1]"Royal Conservatory / Ettore Mazzoleni Hall." KPMB.
