Résumé:
This book bridges generations of powerful Indigenous feminist thinking to demonstrate the movement’s cruciality for today. ''Indigenous feminists'' in the first edition fought for feminism to be considered a valid and essential intellectual and activist position. The second edition animated Indigenous feminisms through real-world applications. This third edition, curated by award-winning scholar Gina Starblanket, reflects and celebrates Indigenous feminism’s intergenerational longevity through the changing landscape of anti-colonial struggle and theory. Diverse contributors examine Indigenous feminism’s ongoing relevance to contemporary contexts and debates, including queer and Two-Spirit approaches to decolonization, gendered and sexualized violence, storytelling and narrative, land-based presence, Black and Indigenous relationalities and more. Feminism has much to offer Indigenous women, and all Indigenous Peoples, in their struggles against oppression.

Résumé:
The photographs in this book were made by Jungjin Lee in the Everglades for the Norton Museum of Art’s exhibition “Imaging Eden”. Bringing her unique meditative approach to this subject, Lee captured a sense of stillness in the constantly moving landscape – one inhabited by endangered species like the manatee, the American crocodile, and the elusive Florida panther. Her photography is imbued with elemental vastness and wonder. Using a multilayered process that integrates elements of painting, Lee’s photographs exude a materiality not often found in photography. The Florida Everglades is one of the most extensive and complex wetlands on our planet. It has been declared an International Biosphere Reserve, a World Heritage Site, and a Wetland of International Importance. It is the third-largest national park in the lower 48 states

Résumé:
This publication, the third in the Concrete Elegance Series, explores the various colours and surface consistencies of concrete. It discusses the quality and variety of colour emerging in concrete architecture using examples, such as the black concrete of the Utrecht Library, the grass-imprinted precast panels of the A16 Toll Booths in France, the pink glass reinforced concrete (GRC) panels of Villaverde in Madrid and the plain grey concrete in the Bacon Street House. The book shows that the interpretation and end results of using tried and tested concrete mixes and commonly used forming materials still offer almost limitless design freedom and scope for expression. The landscape, hardscape, parkland and playground projects and domestic artefacts reviewed in this edition help to broaden the readers understanding of concrete's potential and universal appeal.

A fascinating look at one of the most important engineering achievements of recent times. This book chronicles in detail the various phases of the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, which is the third to connect Europe and Asia over the Bosphorus straits. From its design and engineering concept to its realization, this book offers detailed insights through a historical essay, texts, interviews, illustrations, diagrams, and stunning photography. The book pays particular attention to the engineering accomplishments of the bridge, through a series of drawings and photographs that explain the process of its realization and its operative functionality. It also captures, through specially commissioned images by renowned photographer Michel Denancé, the experience of the traveler crossing the bridge from Europe to Asia, its presence as a major work of infrastructure in the landscape, and its relation to the city of Istanbul.

Résumé:
Colonial and imperial powers have often portrayed arid lands as “empty” spaces ready to be occupied, exploited, extracted, and polluted. Despite the undeniable presence of human and nonhuman lives and forces in desert territories, the “regime of emptiness” has inhabited, and is still inhabiting, many imaginaries. This volume challenges this colonial tendency, questions its roots and ramifications, and remaps the representations, theories, histories, and stories of arid lands—which comprise approximately one-third of the Earth’s land surface. It brings together poems in original languages, conversations with collectives, and essays by scholars and professionals from the fields of architecture, architectural history and theory, curatorial studies, comparative literature, film studies, landscape architecture, and photography. These different approaches and diverse voices draw on a framework of decoloniality to unsettle and unlearn the desert, opening up possibilities to see, think, imagine it otherwise.

Résumé:
In the publication Turning Inward, a selection of texts by international artists, critics and curators consider the impact of the technologically internalized capitalist system of networked power structures upon the production, distribution and consumption of contemporary art. Divided into three parts, the volume addresses the effects of globalization and the Internet on art, its political agency and the changing role of artists, artworks and art institutions. The second section focuses on Berlin s shift from a politically and physically divided capital into a landscape of art and project spaces. A critical look at art history, curating and alternative methodologies comprises the third section. In conclusion, pioneering Iranian philosopher and theorist Reza Negarestani reflects on the transforming relationship between mind and world. Contributions by John Beeson, Svetlana Boym, Marta Dziewanska, Philipp Ekardt, Felix Ensslin, Orit Gat, David Joselit, William Kherbek, John Miller, Matteo Pasquinelli and Dieter Roelstraete

Résumé:
''Nejishiki'' unveils the most iconic scenes from Yoshiharu Tsuge’s highly respected body of work alongside his most beloved stories. A cornerstone of Japan’s legendary 1960s counterculture that galvanized avant-garde manga and comics criticism, the title story follows an injured young man as he wanders through a village of strangers in search of emotional and physical release. Other stories in this collection follow a series of weary travelers who while away sultry nights and face menacing doppelgängers. Even banal activities like afternoon strolls uncover unsavory impulses. The emotionally and erotically charged imagery collected in this third volume remains as shocking and vivid today as it did upon its debut fifty years ago. Tsuge’s stories push boundaries, abruptly crossing the threshold of conventional storytelling. Unassuming protagonists venture further into eerie symbolism against a shadowy, perceptibly dreamlike landscape easily mistaken for the real world. The angst that pervades postwar Japanese society threatens to devour his characters and their pastoral sensibilities as each protagonist’s wanderlust turns surreal.
