AP178.S1.1961.PR01
Description:
The project series documents the design for the Habitação Dr. Júlio Gesta in Matosinhos, Portugal. While the records were held in the office’s archives this project was assigned the number 8/60; in the past the office identified the project as number 103. The office assigned the date 1961 for this project. The project files document a housing cooperative commissioned by Dr. Júlio Gesta, located on Dr. Afonso Corderio street. Drawings suggest a two-storey building. The project was not realized. Documenting this project are sketches, plans and elevations, as well as correspondence, project documentation and a negative of the model.

Description:
Pfeffer de Leeuw commissioned Oud to design a private family residence within Blaricum in 1935. Oud's first design for the house, featuring a flat roof, was rejected by the city council since it did not conform to the surrounding neighbourhood architecture. Oud attempted to amend his original design but ultimately chose one of his earlier designs for a house with a monopitch roof that received council approval. Ultimately, Oud's designs were never realized (Taverne et al. 2001, 402). Project series includes drawings of site and floor plans.

Description:
Oud designed the mayoral residence for the mayor of Broek in Waterland in 1916. Oud's first plan, Plan A, featured a stylized entranceway, fenestration and a stylized roof. Oud revised his plans into a more simple facade, which the client preferred. Plan B was erected in 1916 and met with critical praise by artist, Theo Van Doesburg, who was also commissioned to create the stained glass windows in 1917, featuring the Waterland coat of arms and a swan (Taverne et al. 2001, 124-125). Project series includes drawings of plans and 1 photograph of an elevation.

The competition was won by architect Arthur Erickson. Material includes presentation drawings, a photograph of the no longer existant model, and competition documents including correspondence and a copy of the competition programme.
