Published on occasion of the RUN HOME Collection at Ralph Pucci in New York, in 2014. Susan Cianciolo (born 1969 in Rhode Island) is a New York based fashion designer and artist. Cianciolo began her career in 1995 after graduating from Parson's School of Design, by collaborating with Kim Gordon on the X-Girl clothing line, while around the same time starting her own Run collection—mixing clothing with film and performance art—which for 10 years involved the collaboration of some of New York's leading artists and musicians. Susan Cianciolo has been included in i-D's Fashion Now book, among 150 of the most important designers of our times, and she has been one of the pioneers in using eco friendly materials in her collections. Her illustrations and paintings have also been exhibited worldwide in several galleries and museums.

Résumé:
Many animals build shelters, but only humans build homes. No other species creates such a variety of dwellings. Drawing examples from across the archaeological record and around the world, archaeologist Jerry D. Moore recounts the cultural development of the uniquely human imperative to maintain domestic dwellings. He shows how our houses allow us to physically adapt to the environment and conceptually order the cosmos, and explains how we fabricate dwellings and, in the process, construct our lives. The Prehistory of Home points out how houses function as symbols of equality or proclaim the social divides between people, and how they shield us not only from the elements, but increasingly from inchoate fear.

Résumé:
This is the first comprehensive survey of Ian Strange’s (born 1982) architectural interventions, including photographic and filmic interpretations of those works. Highlighting projects from the past 12 years and spanning geographies from Strange’s native Australia to New Zealand, Japan, Poland and the US, Strange’s provocative transformations of damaged or abandoned homes unlock themes of social upheaval and geographic displacement caused by economic blight, environmental disaster and migration. Published on the occasion of exhibitions at the 2020 Perth Festival and the 2022 FotoFocus Biennial, ''Disturbed home'' features lucid commentary and original documentation of numerous distinct projects. Also included are scholarly essays by FotoFocus artistic director and curator Kevin Moore and Britt Salvesen, curator and head of the Wallis Annenberg Photography Department and the Prints and Drawings Department at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Essays address Strange’s practice within traditions of street art, photography, film, public sculpture and dance.
