Description:
This project series documents Cornelia Hahn Oberlander's landscape design for Schuylkill Falls, a public housing development on Ridge Avenue, in the East Falls neighbourhood of Philadelphia. Oberlander worked on this project from 1952-1955, after she was recruited by architect Oskar Stonorov. Oberlander worked on the landscaping with Dan Kiley. The project was initally divided in six phases and was planned to spread across five city blocks. One of the phases included the construction of two sixteen-storey housing towers, but only one was built. The building was demolished in 1996. The project series contains five landscape plans for all five city blocks project and a set of landscape specifications, the first written by Oberlander.

Description:
Project series documents Cornelia Hahn Oberlander's landscape design proposal for the Calgary Law Courts, located on the city block between 6th and the 7th Avenue, in Calgary, Alberta. This project was part of a design competition in 2004. Oberlander concept for the landscape consisted in depicting Albert's natural landscape of the Rockies, the foothills, and the prairie. The Rockies were to be recreated with excavation material from the site and would include a water feature spilling in a elongated water basins in the foothills, transforming into the prairie represented by tall grasses. Large lawn and bosque of Aspen trees would represente the City and provides shade and seating areas. The planting plan included the use of low maintenance and indigenous plants. The project also included a green roof on top of the Council Chamber and was planned to allow the reuse of storm water. The project was not realized. The project series contains perspective drawings and site plans showing planters concept, and a complete set of building plans used as reference. The project is also documented throught correspondence, including correspondence with architects, consultants and clients, competition information, competition proposal, including landscape concept proposal by Oberlander, financial documents and photographs of the site.

Project series documents Cornelia Hahn Oberlander’s project for the landscape design for Library Square, the new central branch of the Vancouver’s public library on West Georgia Street. Oberlander worked on this project in 1992-1995 with architect Moshe Safdie and architectural firm Downs/Archambault & Patners. Oberlander landscape design included a roof garden, planned to be accessible by the public, and terraces with integral planting of cascading roses of the southeast edge of the building. She was also consulted for the landscape for the street-level spaces: “Along the streets bordering the site, Oberlander selected tulip trees, except on W. Georgia Street where the city required maples.” [1] The project was completed in 1995. The project series contains sketches, design development drawings, including planting plans, landscape plans for the green roof and the plaza, working drawings, such as site plans, planting plans, irrigation plans, landscape sections and elevations, and drawings of the building used as reference.
