Since 2015, photographer Brian Adams from the Inupiaq ethnic group has been traveling through Alaska, capturing the Inuit and their individual stories and finding out how they spend their individual lives in the 21st century. Visiting around 20 communities, he took portraits of the residents and recorded their narratives, sharing these across social media. This project I am Inuit as well as this book has the aim of promoting understanding, dismantling stereotypes as well as misperceptions and connecting the world with Alaskan Inuits, and the Arctic, through common humanity.

Architect Stanley Saitowitz, based in San Francisco, is known for a practice that unites the qualities of early modern architecture with the construction techniques, materials, and urban and social attributes of the twenty-first century. Recurring themes in his work include the careful connection to time and place; the construction of spaces that allow fields of opportunity; the use of generative systems; the role of architecture as a support for human activity; and the visible trace of building techniques. This monograph, the first on Stanley Saitowitz office, presents fifty projects from more than thirty years of practice. The projects, divided by building type, are accompanied by a personal text in which Saitowitz plainly discusses his influences and interests. Landscape houses, often built on spectacular sites in Marin, Napa, and Sonoma, have evolved to include the noted "bar houses." Urban houses, while compact and dense, incorporate a sense of volume; similarly, multifamily housing provides indeterminate space to allow for personalization. Buildings for schools range from the riverside campus of the Oxbow School in Napa to the structurally innovative Building 23B at UCSF Mission Bay. Among the public landscapes is Mill Race Park in Columbus, Indiana, an assemblage of constructions specific to both place and function. Finally, Saitowitz has developed a series of designs that explore the formation of a Jewish architecture, notably synagogues in San Francisco and La Jolla and the Holocaust Memorial in Boston. Cook departs from her portrait work with "Stone Walls: Personal Boundaries", a project that was conceived one day at her home on Martha's Vineyard, when 56 cows strayed through a crumbling section of the stone wall she shares with her neighbor. From this moment, Cook embarked on an eight-year journey, travelling from New England to the American South, Britain, Ireland, the Mediterranean and Peru in pursuit of dry stone walls. Far from being a conventional travelogue, these black-and-white photographs portray the wall in landscape, the wall as abstract form, and the return of rocks to nature. Cook is fascinated with the juxtaposition of stones as an instance of geometric composition, as well as with the resonance between walls of different cultures. Although he had always used digital technology to transform the film images into a finished image, he slowly introduced digital picture-making technology to the process of recording the scenes. In 2010, Liao began photographing Coney Island during a period of transition, for both the place and the artist. A new incarnation of Luna Park opened to the public, the municipal government actively engaged in redevelopment, and the area visibly transformed. At the same time, Liao’s approach to picture making changed as he experimented with new strategies and techniques. He started the project working with traditional transparency film. Although he had always used digital technology to transform the film images into a finished image, he slowly introduced digital picture-making technology to the process of recording the scenes. The resulting large-scale prints have a visual sweep often associated with cinema, encompassing the viewer and providing a strong sense of place. Edition of 500 copies
