These chapters are complemented by an introduction by Griffiths and an afterword by Swiss architectural historian Martino Stierli.

Résumé:
This edition of the Dutch architecture journal presents essays in word and image on the designed environments of today, yesterday and tomorrow. Its subjective arguments and personal reflections on the field's practice and discourse consider what is (and is not) happening and is (and is not) being said: Architecture Bulletin reflects on the field and all of its potential significance. This, its third issue, tackles the many manifestations of the city, the power centers in street life, the ways in which public spaces are "hacked" by subversive street artists and the ways in which public space in the average city now extends into the virtual domain. Corollary essays reflect on the impact of the hyper-reality of the shopping mall on social behavior, and on social interventions that improve the livability of architecture.

Résumé:
Architecture is never an isolated production. It is deeply embedded in the fabric of any social and cultural dynamic, even though new impetuses are often made and established through architecture. This is particularly true of the exuberant social and cultural shift that India is undergoing. A multi-disciplinary approach is crucial in order to unravel the scope of the phenomenon and its manifestations. The title features Sunil Khilnan's meditation on what constitutes the idea of modern India, Prem Chandavarkar's exciting account of the emergence of a new generation of architects in Bangalore and Ravi Sundarum's description of the visceral city. It also includes project sections that portray the divergent and innovative face of Indian architecture from Bombay to Bangalore, which include sophisticated urban schemes alongside handmade self-built buildings in rural areas.

Résumé:
"EVIL," the theme of this latest issue of TEXTE ZUR KUNST is often understood as simply the opposite of “good,” and as pure immorality, evil is everywhere today, and somehow also nowhere. It is the “other” par excellence; something we ourselves never are, but by which one always measures one’s own distance. “Evil is over there, not here, not with me.” Given its ubiquity today, we offer texts that investigate what this thing we call “evil” is, as it so often functions as the polar opposite of that which people hold to be just and right. Indeed, who could argue that point, and yet. In this issue, we look specifically at evil’s manifestations in the art world, and in film, politics, and theory, always with an eye toward evil as something potentially playful and ironic.

Résumé:
Klaus Merkel has been photographing stones, rocky landscapes and trees for over thirty years, which he pairs up in double pictures. He portrays the astounding harmony between the animate and the inanimate, between natural and designed manifestations. Fascinating affinities become visible when he shows the limestone blocks of the Great Pyramid of Giza alongside basalt cliffs in Northern Ireland, and the cultivated lime-tree walkway of a castle grounds next to the nave of a cathedral. As the forest of figures and pinnacles of Milan Cathedral is placed next to the sandstone columns of Bryce Canyon, fascinating connections between natural form and art emerge. The book thus invites the reader to examine and compare the multiple similarities of the surfaces' structures of natural as well as artificial objects.
